Overview
Boughton supplied 125m³ of Green Roof Substrate designed for podiums, for the development of a series of roof gardens at a new residential housing block at Wandsworth Riverside, London.
Scope of Work
Boughton supplied green roof substrate for the construction of a series of roof gardens at Wandsworth Riverside, London. The project developed a new residential block with dryscree grassland substrate, herbaceous mound soils and lightweight soils to support the planting of wildflower plugs and seeds.
Boughton supplied Bernhard’s Landscapes for the project. Due to restricted roof loadings, all substrate had to be supplied in bulk bags and crane lifted onto the rooftop for manual spreading. Attention to detail was a high priority for Bernhard’s Landscapes, where nesting refuges alongside lichen & moss growth required reclaimed Australian Jarra hardwoods and Oolitic boulders painted with real ale to complete the project.
