Subsoil product image

Boughton Subsoil is an essential part of most soil profiles, used before topsoil to provide added moisture storage and reduce the rate of water run-off.

Subsoil is low in organic matter, profiling a mixture of sand, silt and clay, with over 50% of its particles ranging in size from 0.25mm to 0.5mm

Product Standard

Boughton Lightweight Subsoil meets and exceeds the British Standard for Subsoil BS38601:2013, which compliments BS3882:2015 for topsoil.

Boughton Subsoil can be delivered in any required format. This includes 25ltr and IBC Bulk bags. Or loose tipped as required.

Applications & Installation

Boughton Lightweight Subsoil  is available for all your green roof or podium projects. If the standard product does not meet any weight limitations, the subsoil can be blended to suit  your specifications.

Boughton Subsoil can be laid to depths varying from 100 / 500 cm. The depth of substrate is determined by the  planting scheme and the weight loading capability of the  roof/podium which must be assessed by a qualified structural  engineer.
