Boughton supplied IN1 intensive green roof substrate, for the construction of communal roof terraces at a new Manhattan inspired apartment development, nestled on the banks of the River Irwel in Manchester.
Scope of Work
Boughton supplied IN1 intensive green roof substrate for the installation of Urban Roofscape’s green roof system at Downtown Manchester apartments.
The new Manhattan inspired apartment development, nestled on the banks of the River Irwel in Manchester, boasts communal roof terraces that incorporate outdoor kitchens, as well as a range of other luxury services for the development’s hotel style living.
The £85m 374 apartment development, designed by Leach Rhodes Walker Architects and built by main contractor McGoff Construction, utilised 200m3 of Boughton’s high quality IN1 intensive green roof substrate. This substrate has been designed to contain a greater proportion of organic matter and finer sand particles. This allows the substrate to retain more moisture for longer periods of time, as well providing extra nutrition for plants.
