Overview
Developed on the banks of the river Thames and in sight of St. Paul’s Cathedral, this development had to meet the BREEAM rating of ‘excellent’ along with good sustainability credentials.
Scope of Work
The appointed landscape architect had to meet the strict ‘St Paul’s planning sight lines restricted roof plant guidelines’ together with a pre-requisite from the planners that the development had to have a green roof solution.
Boughton Loam’s specially developed lightweight topsoils were used for creating all the rooftop garden terraces throughout the development. Boughton provided 200 cu. meters of lightweight green roof soil during the course of the project, which in-turn had its own logistical delivery difficulties for delivering within the ‘city’ district.
For more information on Boughton’s range of lightweight topsoils and other materials or if you have a particular specification for a roof top garden or green roof project, please call Simon Hedley on 01536 510515.
