Boughton Lightweight Subsoil Substrate is an essential part of most substrate installations, used before the main substrate, usually our IN1 Intensive, especially if the build-up is over 500mm depth, with a zero to low organic content its ideal and provides added moisture storage and reduce the rate of water run-off.
The Lightweight Subsoil Substrate contains little or no organic matter, principally a mixture of sand with over 50% of its particles ranging in size from 0.25mm to 0.5mm and LECA (Light Expanded Clay Aggregate) to add bulk but to reduce the overall Bulk Density.
Boughton Lightweight Subsoil Substrate can be delivered in any required format. This includes 25ltr and IBC Bulk bags. Or loose tipped as required.

Applications & Installation
Boughton Lightweight Subsoil Substrate is available for all your green roof or podium projects. If the standard product does not meet any weight limitations, the subsoil can be blended to suit your specifications.
Boughton Subsoil can be laid to depths varying from 100 / 500 mm. The depth of substrate is determined by the planting scheme and the weight loading capability of the roof/podium which must be assessed by a qualified structural engineer.
Lightweight Subsoil can be delivered in any required format. This includes 25ltr and IBC Bulk bags. Or loose tipped as required.
